Once Upon a Mattress
Concluding the Bloomingdale Theatre’s season is the family favorite, Once Upon A Mattress, a telling of the humorous fairy tale, The Princes and the Pea, originally by Hans Christian Andersen.
The biggest change is Bloomingdale’s production set in Buckingham Palace in 2026. The sets and costumes are modern, but the story is the same story families have enjoyed since Carol Burnett starred as Princess Winifred on off and on Broadway in 1959.
More recently (2024) Princess Winifred has been portrayed by Broadway legend Sutton Foster with Burnett as Prince Dauntless’s mother, Queen Aggravain.

Choreographer
Many know her as "Teddi" with a heart for educational transformation and civil rights advocacy. Anyone who knows anything about Teddi can attest that she is one of a kind. She pursues a degree in musical theater with a minor Professional Education, and a concentration in Juvenile Justice, from the University of Tampa.
Not only is Teddi a performer, but she is a life changer. Her students quote the "She sees me as more than what I write on paper, and challenges me to question my beliefs" (Jada,18), and "She reminds me why learning is crucial to freedom." (Octavious,14)
Her teaching experience has expanded significantly over the last four years. Before she is a teacher, she is a performer. Teddi is a one-of-a-kind, triple-threat, contemporary master of surprise. Some of her most notable works include: Mardi Gras Queen at Busch Gardens, Featured Alto with Andrea Borcelli, and writer and director of her show "The Water".
Directors describe Teddi as a driving force when met with opposition, only thrives, "I never know how she's going to come into the room, but I know it will keep me on my toes" (Kai Knight). To say the least, over the last 4 years, Teddi has become a chameleon; wherever she goes, she blends in with success.
